BAM NextWave Festival 2021 Brochure Concept

Typographic exploration reaches both ends of the weight spectrum with contrasting ultra-heavy Berthold Akzidenz Grotesk and hairline thin Hero New. Unfolded, each side of the brochure becomes a decorative poster. The front features photos of BAM's key buildings overlaid with a light wash of their signature colors. On the back, type and color-treated photos defy gravity, floating at angles like some of the dancers and performers they depict, creating a waterfall down the center of the brochure. A matte black background adds a glowing effect to magical photos of performers in motion and to the pastel-washed type, like the lights of a stage.
